Lake Almanor - Covering 52 sq. miles Lake Almanor is regarded as one of California’s best trophy trout and salmon fisheries. It is host to populations of Browns, Rainbows, as well as Land Locked King Salmon. Lake Almanor is located 66 miles from Chico100 miles from Reno and 147 miles from Sacramento. Winter, Spring and Fall are hot times to be on the water.
The Seasons - Almanor is one of the few Trophy Trout fisheries in the Sierras that is open to fishing year round and also has maintained access by road. This means it can be fished litereally year round. Winter provides great action for Browns and Rainbows that are hungry and looking to feed. Spring can provide action that can only be summed up as "mind blowing", this is also the time of year when some of the largest fish of the year are caught. During the Summer months the trout tend to move to deeper but that is no problem for our Cannon Downriggers and top of the line ultra light gear. Once the leaves begin to change so do the feeding habits of the fish, as they move back shallow and try to stock up on food for the coming winter.
The Rates - The first two guests $175.00 per person. Each additional guest $100.00 (Two person minimum boat charge, all tackle and fishing equipment is provided including fish cleaning and wrapping)
Bryan, as usual it was another trip that memories are made of. Unless a person just makes the call and experiences a day on Lake Almanor with you they will not understand. The rush you get when that Brown hits is unreal! Of course the whole lake knows when I catch a fish. Yah, we dealt with some weather but you block that out with the excitement. If someone is just looking for a boat ride and sit under the cover they might think twice about going with you. From start to finish Bryan is working the lake to find fish and I mean you will cover a lot of area in a day with Bryan. He knows this lake like no other. Cannot wait for next year.
Thanks again, Mike Piper- ( Boom Shaka Laka )
